Hawkers

I'm going to start this review with a confession: I <3 Hawkers...like LOOOVVVEEE Hawkers. So be warned, there will be gushing ahead.

Since we've established my love for Hawkers, let this post serve as a guide for navigating the menu. Just a way to try all of MY favorite things on the menu and find out how awesome I am. Yes and Yes? Good!

Hawkers is like a collection of all the street food found in various Asian countries. The offer the food in small sharable plates, but you can keep it all to yourself if you like(I do that often).

So one of my favorite things to start off with is the Roti Canai. Its a great appetizer; thin, flaky bread to dip in this curry like dip. It is AMAZINGGGG!(told ya, gushing). Now you get about 2 pieces of bread, and it goes quickly. So if you're sharing, you can always order more bread. But if you're by yourself, don't spoil your dinner, much more goodness to come.

Another way to start off your meal is with the beef bulogi skewers. Perfectly cooked beef with a side of delicious kimchi.

You get 3 skewers and if you're sharing, fighting over the kimchi is a real possibility.

When it comes to entrees, well, technically you can pretty much order anything and it be your entrée, but you get where I'm coming from. Everything is meant to share. So lets start with the tacos. Now you can choose your protein: beef(shown below), duck, chicken and tofu(not that brave...yet).

My most recent trip to Hawkers, I tried the Tom Yum as well. It's in the pho family, like the cousin you're so close to you're willing to fight the neighborhood bully over. Tom Yum is full of spicy, bold flavors.
